Network ports was not shown visually clear ,how they were connected.

1. He understood the icons. But if we could make them more clear with fx colors. He mentioned green.

Gage-icon look like server towers, instead of cages.

The menu was easy for him. He understood the toggle bottom.

Extras

comments from the test person

regarding the menu: you could make it transparent so you still can se the things behind.

It would be nice with a help button in the bottom at the right corner.

Search for disk usage.

On the cage-level status red, yellow, green. That indicates if something is wrong. The click it and go directly to the server whit the problem. Not as global menu because he might get confused about which server it belong to.

On the ipad: when I exchange a disk it could come up with a question should this disk be a spare.

Conclusion of the Colo-Plan user test:

The test person is unsure about the graphics reflect the power of the iPad itself, or it is the server’s consumption.

The test person thought that the first calendar type is the best model for the task.

The test person thinks the time period should be at the front. (95%)

The test person suggested that you can save in different file-formats and they are automatically attached below. And possibly more fixed contacts.

The test person have doubts about the graph is showing hours or days.

The test person does not know the kind of menu, but will definitely try to press there.

Userscenario

1.

The key user is going to set up a new server. So needs an overview over the network- and power cables to see where there is a free space.

He logs on to his personalized page where he can quickly get an overview of the server which he is responsible of.
One of them gives him a proposal for upgrading the new power supply.

He has found the item he needs in the Catalog and added it in the  rack editor. Now he needs to see where the cables should be connected.

User-scenarios – Coloplan

Tenant It Manager:

1.login to see how much space left on server to see if it is time to upgrade.

2.login to see temp and there is no flashing lights

3.cheks once a quarter to check there is nothing wrong

(solution – system sends a message when there is something wrong)

Tenant System Administrator:

mulighed for personaliseret indhold, han skal let kunne danne sig et overblik over det udstyr der er relevant for ham.

Han har brug for konstant overblik over cage, rack, servers for at sikre optimal kapacitet og ydeevne.

Har brug for en form for værktøj der viser prioriterede alarmer.

Forslag til opgradering. reporterings værktøj så han kan gi report videre til hans chef.

Han logger på hans egen personaliserede side, hvor han hurtigt kan danne sig et overblik over de servers som han varetager.

En af dem giver ham et forslag til opgradering af ny strømforsyning.

Han modtager en alarm der hjemme på hans mobile device. Han bruger hans tablet til at se hvad fejlen er og retter den.

Han skal sende et raport til chefen. Han logger på systemet og henter via rapporteringsværktøjet dataene og sender en mail til chefen.

Colo DC Manager:

En ny kunde ringer. Han danner sig hurtigt et overblik over aller kunder hvor meget plads de optager. Så han kan se om datacenteret har kapacitet.

Maintance: han logger ind og har det store overblik og beføjelse til at afhjælpe en kundes fejl på systemer.

Han kan se eksisterende kunders setop og deres historik og dermed danne sig et overblik over behov i fremtiden.

Han kan overvåge power, cooling, ect

Han står hjemme i køkkenet og er ved at lave en kop kaffe. En kunde ringer og har et netværksproblem.

Serveren er langsom. Han bruger sin tablet til at logge ind og ser på monitereringsdelen og kan se problemet og tager sig af problemet.
